Keep Texas Beautiful

Keep Texas Beautiful (KTB) and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) have worked hand-in-hand for more than four decades to make Texas roadways attractive for motorists and encourage tourism. KTB is a key partner in educating young Texans about litter prevention through promotion of the annual Don’t mess with Texas Scholarship Contest and the first Don’t mess with Texas Elementary School Art Contest. Litter prevention programs supported by KTB also include TxDOT's Adopt-A-Highway and the Don’t mess with Texas Trash-Off. Since 1985, KTB has recognized outstanding communities through the Governor’s Community Achievement Awards program, with TxDOT providing the landscape awards.

Don’t mess with Texas is grateful for the ongoing support of KTB and its affiliate communities around the state.

Texas Association of Student Councils

The Texas Association of Student Councils (TASC) is a non-profit organization serving high school and middle level student councils in Texas. Its purposes are to develop leadership abilities in students, promote democracy as a way of life, and establish and uphold high standards for local councils. Since 2008, the TASC has been a critical part of communicating the Don’t mess with Texas message to students across the state.

With more than a thousand locations across Texas, McDonald’s is committed to putting litter in its place. Don’t mess with Texas thanks McDonald’s for placing litter prevention messaging on its packaging and in-kind donations of food and beverage coupons for Road Tour events.

Sweet Leaf Iced Teas

As the company says, “Granny loves to give.” Sweet Leaf Tea has provided cases and cases of complimentary tea to our grateful Road Tour visitors at events across the state. Don’t mess with Texas (and thousands of other Texans) thank Sweet Leaf Tea, one of the nation’s hottest up-and-coming beverage brands, for its delicious assistance in “keeping it in the can.”

Blue Bell Ice Cream

Ice cream from “the little creamery in Brenham” has been a hands-down Texas favorite since 1907. During these last 100-plus years, Bluebell has firmly established its place in Texas history, having been enjoyed by celebrities, presidents, and even astronauts aboard the International Space Station. Don’t mess with Texas applauds Bluebell for its ongoing support of the Litter Force children’s educational campaign and for providing much needed refreshment to volunteers during the Don’t mess with Texas Trash-Off.

Vans Warped Tour

A premier destination for both the Don’t mess with Texas Road Tour and tens of thousands of screaming fans, the Vans Warped Tour continues to be one of the most anticipated music events of the summer. Special thanks to the Vans Warped Tour organizers for always throwing great events and for reminding young people across the state that littering in Texas is never okay.

It’s a Bag’s Life

It’s a Bag’s Life is a public education campaign that unites Texas retailers, the community, and other businesses around the common goal of promoting the three Rs-reduce, reuse, recycle- so that plastic bags don’t become litter or end up in landfills. It’s a Bag’s Life provides litterbags to the Don’t mess with Texas campaign and asks that all bags be first reused and then responsibly recycled.
