Trash & Treasure Hunt Events

Want to help keep your community clean and beautiful while hunting for great prizes like a YETI Hopper 20 Cooler? Part trash pickup, part treasure hunt, the Don’t mess with Texas Trash & Treasure Hunt is not to be missed!

Last Spring and Summer, the Don’t mess with Texas Trash & Treasure Hunt visited 13 Texas communities. We want to extend a Texas-sized THANK YOU to all of the volunteers who participated! The Trash & Treasure Hunt will continue its tour across the state in Spring 2017, so check back soon to find out when we’ll be in your town!

ABOUT THE EVENT

Don’t mess with Texas invites you and other volunteers to join us for fun, games, and trash pick-up! Participants will be entered to win prizes donated by partners including YETIAM RacingThe Bullock Texas State History MuseumMcDonald’sAlamo Drafthouse CinemaSchlitterbahnthe San Antonio Missions, and others! Prizes will vary at each event.

Don’t mess with Texas invites you to celebrate its 30th anniversary and take action to prevent litter by participating in this statewide event!

Don’t mess with Texas will reward Scouts and youth groups in Texas this summer who volunteer to help us with litter removal at one of the Trash & Treasure Hunts or other litter pick-up events statewide. All Scouts and youth groups who participate will earn a special Don’t mess with Texas 30th anniversary patch. Please fill out this volunteer report form and send an email to [email protected] with a short description of the litter cleanup event you attended and an optional photo and we will mail you a patch.

Thank you to all the Boy and Girl Scout troops who have done their part in keeping Texas beautiful. For those who haven’t submitted their report yet, your patches are waiting!
