ANNUAL TEXAS TRASH-OFF!

The Don’t mess with Texas® Trash-Off is the state’s signature event for picking up litter. Each April, volunteers from across Texas come together to clean up roadways, beautify communities, and show what it means to take pride in our state.

In 2025, the Trash-Off was hosted in Tyler, Texas, the same place where the Adopt-a-Highway program got its start 40 years ago. It marked an important moment to reflect on the past, honor the present, and look ahead to a future where Texans continue making a difference.

This year’s turnout had volunteers representing families, schools, churches, businesses, and civic groups from all over the state. From St. Catherine’s Catholic Church and Mt. Zion Methodist Youth in Atlanta, to J.W. Nixon High School Girls Volleyball in Laredo, and from The Lowe Family H&J Farms in Bryan to B&L Pipeco Services in Amarillo, each group brought dedication and spirit to the effort.

Below is a gallery highlighting the great work of this year’s participants.
